You can purchase your South Dakota fishing license online at this
link.
To fish South Dakota, you need a fishing license. They come in
various prices and lengths. The one day license is $7 for residents
and $14 for nonresidents. The 3 day fishing pass for nonresidents
is $32! Annual license for nonresidents is $60. Annual license
for residents is $25. The family annual fishing license for nonresidents
is $60, which seems like the best deal if you plan to spend any
amount of time in the area fishing.
Remember that only one trout of 14 inches or longer may be included
in the daily creel limit. The use or possession of baitfish is
prohibited except at Stockade Lake. Custer State Park is contained
inside the Black Hills Trout Management area. Smallmouth/Largemouth
bass minimum lengths are 15 inches.
Custer State Park is an enjoyable experience. There are several
outstanding trout creeks such as French Creek and Grace Coolidge
Creek. The few lakes(Sylvan, Center, Legion, Stockade) offer a
pretty environment to chase trout, bass, walleye and pike.

Those using waders should wait either two days for their gear
to dry, or use a two percent bleach solution when moving to a
different watershed.
