Bowman Lake is a medium sized campground set in a remote area
of Glacier National Park. Bowman Lake campground is reached via
a bouncy, narrow dirt road five miles long from the Polebridge
entrance. In good summer weather a car can make it, but you need
to be an aware and alert driver. RV's and trailers are not recommended.
Bowman Lake itself is a beautiful lake set amongst the quiet forests
and hills of Glacier National Park's North Fork country. This
is a good place for those seeking a more quiet drive-in campground
alternative. Bowman Lake campground does not have modern bathrooms
( no flush toilets).
When driving to Bowman, be especially careful on the road. We
recommend you drive as slow as tolerable. The reason for this
is it's basically a one way road with lots of twists and turns.
In many instances you cannot see if someone is coming towards
you. Also, the road is home to high numbers of wildlife, from
grouse to deer.
