Glacier National Park is considered by many to be the finest hiking
park in the nation. Outdoor magazine readers consistently vote it as
their favorite national park. While Glacier National Park may be spectacular
from the roads, it's even more scenic on the trails. Glacier National
Park has 151 hiking trails, with a total of 743 miles.
If overnight hiking, visitors need to stop off at the local visitor
center to get the proper permit and safety information. The usual Glacier
grizzly and wildlife precautions apply. Always practice Leave No Trace
camping. Leave a campsite better than you left it.
