Union Bay campground is the largest campground in Porcupine Mountains
Wilderness State Park. It offers modern bathrooms and showers.
The campground borders a rocky and scenic section of Lake Superior
in the eastern portion of the park on the way to Lake of the Clouds
on county road 107. This would be a fantastic area for kayaking,
power boating and photographing the rugged coastline. Union Bay
campground seems to be the preferred spot for those using RV's,
and the sites are spacious with generally pleasing views. Because
of the lcoation. Union Bay is also the busiest campground in the
park. Do not expect a remote experience or solitude - but do expect
very nice scenery and water based activities along the big lake.
