Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park
dense forest and outhouse in white Pine campground
White Pine Campground

Share |

White Pine Extension campground sits midway between Presque Isle campground and Union Bay campground on the South Boundary Road. There are eight total sites, as well as a vault toilet. The campground would make a good stopover before heading out on the Summit Peak trail. The eight sites are situated in a scenic and quiet hardwood forest. Sites are fairly spacious. Since White Pine campground is only 1.59 miles east of the Summit Peak Scenic Area, it means quick and easy access to Mirror Lake Trail and Lily Pond Trail.
Although offering a feeling of seclusion, White Pine is not very far from the South Boundary Road. Because of this, expect some occasional road noise.
