Theodore Roosevelt National Park offers a unique hiking experience
in the North Dakota badlands. The trails and views have a flavor
and appeal that make this park stand out as a unique area in our
park system. One of the more interesting and challenging hikes in
the park is the Maah Daah Hey Trail, a 96 mile long trail which
connects the north and south units of the park! This long, strenuous
trail is also open to horseback riders, but only open to bicyclists
outside of the park.. It also crosses the Little Missouri National
Grassland as well as private land. This trail is the stuff of legends!
Do you have what it takes?
The Maah Daah Hey Trail starts in Sully Creek State Park, just south
of Medora. This is a rough trail and requires adequate preparation.

Coal Vein Nature Trail 0.80 miles (round trip)
Lone Tree from East 10.50 mi. (round trip)
Lone Tree from West 13.30 mi. (round trip)
Painted Canyon Nature Trail 0.90 miles (round trip)
Petrified Forest - from East 15.30 miles (round trip)
Ridge line Nature Trail 0.60 miles (round trip)
Skyline Vista - handicap accessible 0.25 mi. (round trip)
Wind Canyon 0.50 miles (round trip)
Equipment checklist:

comfortable, already broken in hiking boots to avoid blisters
