Grant campground is located near the West Thumb of Yellowstone Lake
in the southern portion of Yellowstone National Park.. For those
looking to spend lots of time at Old Faithful and still have a nearby
lake experience, this is a good camping site. Bring rain gear and
warmer clothing even in summer months. Some of the back loop camping
sites border a wetlands area of Yellowstone Lake that can provide
for spectacular summer sunsets and bird watching.
Grant campground is only twenty two miles from the southern Yellowstone
entrance, making it a reasonable location for a day trip into Grand
Teton National Park, which is quite honestly a must do while in
Yellowstone. Grant is also located only a few miles from Old Faithful
and the major geothermal drive in the park. The area is home to
many hot springs as well. The thick forests that make up Grant campground
can offer a more relazed and quiet drive-in campground experience.
