Yosemite National Park
clear, calm river in Yosemite valley
Boating

Boating in Yosemite National Park can be a varied and fun experience. Most of the action lies in rafting the Merced river and dropping in on one of the high altitude lakes with non-motorized watercraft(such as Tenaya Lake).

Rafting is permitted on the Merced River between the hours of 10 am and 6 pm( his is the Stoneman Bridge to Sentinel Beach Picnic area section). Rafting is also allowed on the South Fork of the Merced in the Wawona area.

Anyone planning on boating in Yosemite needs to wear a personal flotation device.
