We always take corn on the cob when we go camping. It's just part of camping. We make ours in the camp fire. We soak the corn in a bucket of water for most of the day. Then we toss the corn (husks and all) in the camp fire. Be sure to have a poker so you can turn them over in the fire. After about 1 hour they are done.
The corn is amazing!

I love corn on the cob on the open fire, baked potatoes as well. YUM! When we are not out in the woods--I will make the corn on the cob the same way but place it on the gas grill--just be sure you keep turning it. It smells and tastes so much better than boiling it.

I have not tried cooking corn on the cob this way, it sounds delicious!! Does it taste a little "smokey"? I love that. A must-try recipe for sure.  Grin

Smokey.... a little... it's certainly different than boiling it. It has a better taste. Kind of a camp fire taste. It is amazing!
I know some people even pull off the husks and put a bit of seasoning on it then wrap them back up.
I forgot the last part- Once it's done- we dunk each ear in a bucket of clean cold water- to cool them down so you can peel off the husks.

That was nice. Actually we fry our corn when camping instead of doing it that way that you do. Thanks for posting this. Cheesy Gonna try it out next time.
