We usually do salt potatoes on the same night as the corn on the cob. We always cook way too many. The reason is- we make them the next day on the grill into fried potatoes for breakfast.
Anyone else do this?
We add some sausage too and peppers and onions to the potatoes. It's my favorite breakfast. Usually we have scrambled eggs and toast with it. The other day we do bacon, pancakes, etc.

We do that actually. But unlike you, we don;t add sausages and peppers anymore. We just want it to be grilled and all. We want it to be natural still. Makes camping really nice for using or eating foods naturally.

Hey Kris--what are salt potatoes? I don't think I have ever had them. We do cut up our left over baked potatoes and mix them with eggs and sausage though---usually leftover mushrooms and onions--or if we had steak, we will use that instead of sausage.

We usually have pancakes and sausage or bacon one day---and we bring the little individual boxes of cereal usually for the day we are packing up. Much easier than cooking breakfast and packing up all in the same day.

We make them also. But we put them without peeling their skin into the ashes that left from our fire. In a half an hour they are baked and ready! Smiley

Have you ever baked whole potatoes in hot coals left after a campfire? Those are delicious, although too hot to hold onto at first, but that's part of the fun!  Grin

Sweet... they are the really small white potatoes that you cook with a packet of salt. I can't believe you haven't heard of them. We eat them all the time in the summer. They are so tasty- You can boil them on the stove, or on the grill. Most stores sell them   Grin

Really!? I never knew that can be done for potatoes. Made me crave when you mentioned it and sounds fun doing it too Merana. Thanks. Have a new way now of cooking potatoes, yes.
