This view is the Apgar visitor center area, basically the "main street" of Glacier National Park. The area is an activity hub offering lodging, food, guide services, great boating on Lake McDonald and a sandy beach with crystal clear water. Apgar campground is a short walk away.
The Apgar area is the western side of Glacier National Park, at an elevation of around 3,158 feet.

This is the Apgar Mountain cam, with an impressive view of Lake McDonald and the lush, green west side. The elevation from the lookout is around 5,000 feet. That's 2,000 feet higher than the elevation of Lake McDonald.

Here is Lake McDonald itself. This beautiful lake is 7,038 acres with a maximum depth of 472 feet with an elecation of 3,153 feet. This is a great spot for boating.
