Best campground on the river! Dalles is not that large but it's an awesome place. We camp there every year coming from Spokane. As the original page said, the forest is amazing. We see moose, bears and even once a wolf at Dalles. There are huge boulders in the river and a suspension bridge just north of the campground. The sites are not meant for full size SUV, but half size and mini's are AOK. We just wish the place had more modern bathrooms, but what can you do when you are that far back in the stix.
