We stayed here for a night in 2007 and liked it. We were able to see elk at the Mammoth visitor center. The bathrooms feel a bit old, but the views are big. Good location for first entering the park rom the north. Mammoth campground is a good place if you want to be close to showers, food and dining. the fishing in the Gardiner river was good.
