Pebble Creek is a great campground to stay out.  Very cool area with a canyon upstream.  Pretty pine trees.  Closest to the northeast entrance.  Close to Soda Butte Creek which was great fishing. Good for wildlife. One night I woke up in the middle of the night to hear wolves howling around the campsite.  It was unforgettable.
There is also a great sandwich shop up in Cooke City, a short drive up into the Beartooth Mountains.

Liked this one...very pretty...sites were small though. Far away from other Yellowstone attractions with long drive across Lamar Valley. Pebble Creek Campground (if you can get a site) is far, far away from the craziness of most of Yellowstone. Our group preferred this and we were glad to drive back to a quiet area after touring the big falls and Old faithful. We camped at the walk-in tent section next to a little stream in a dead-end canyon.
